Botulinum treatments

Are you in fact happy with your smile and your general facial expression but have already started to notice the first signs of wrinkles? You’d like to reduce their appearance and look young in the process without looking unnatural?

No problem. Botulinum treatments allow us to remove small wrinkles around your forehead, eyes and neck. And in a way that means your face doesn’t look frozen. It looks naturally beautiful.
And did you know that botulinum not only has aesthetic effects, but also has medical indications? Using botulinum, for example, we can prevent the glands in your armpits from sweating, which is an enormous relief for many people, particularly during the summer months. And those whose hands tend to become clammy can greet others with confidence thanks to successful botulinum treatment. Treating the palms prevents the sweat glands from becoming active and leads to pleasantly dry hands.

At Skinthetics, aesthetic dermatology is not just about outer appearance.
It’s about the patient enjoying a sense of complete well-being.

Frequently asked questions about botulinum treatment at Skinthetics Düsseldorf.

Botulinum, also called Botox or Botulinum toxin, is used to treat wrinkles safely and effectively.

During a Botox treatment the substance is injected via micro needles into the skin. Botox is a neurotransmitter inhibitor – it therefore reduces the communication between the nerve cell and the muscle. As a consequence the muscle relaxes and overlying wrinkles smoothen. At the same time it also prevents the development of new wrinkles. Botox can be injected in such a way that you look naturally radiant and relaxed without having a frozen or artificial looking face.

At first the treatment area is disinfected and the Botox is then injected. At the end a cool pack is applied to avoid any possible bruising.

The first results start to become visible after 2 days but the full effect is evident 2 weeks after the injection.

We recommend to avoid blood thinning medication such as aspirin one week before the injection.

Botox can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles. In addition it can also be used to treat excessive sweating (so called hyperhidrosis) on the palms or soles and it is also a  recommended agent for treating migraines, Furthermore it can be used to reduce the volume of the chewing muscle (masseter)  in order to give the face a more oval shape.

This varies from patient to patient. It depends on the amount of Botox injected and on how quickly each individual body disintegrates the active agent.

A Botox injection takes about 15-20 minutes.

There is only a slight discomfort as we use very fine micro needles, which are well tolerated. Exercise should be avoided within the first 24 hours after a Botox injection. Intensive sun exposure, tanning studios and saunas should be avoided during the first 2-3 days after the injection.

Redness, swelling or bruising can occur at the injection sites which usually resolve within a few days.

No, there is no down time. You can go straight back to your daily life.

The costs are dependent on the areas treated and amount of product used and start from 200 €.
