What is a filler treatment?

Filler treatments are a safe and effective procedures to treat wrinkles, restore volume in the face or on the hands and to treat deep scars.

It depends on the filler substance. Hyaluronic acid is a transparent, gel-like sugar substance that is also found naturally in our skin. With age the bodies own production of hyaluronic acid decreases and wrinkles start to appear. A hyaluronic acid filler, which is based on the bodies own substance, is therefore ideal to rejuvenate the skin, smooth wrinkles and to bring back youthful facial contours. Radiesse, our calcium hydroxyapatite filler, is a great agent to restore greater volume losses. Calcium is also found naturally in our body. With Radiesse cheek bones can be enhanced beautifully, the chin can gain a more chiseled look and the hands can be rejuvenated. In addition Radiesse not only acts as a filler but also triggers the production of new collagen and elastin thereby improving the quality of the overlying skin.

Fillers are beneficial to people who suffer from wrinkles and/or volume loss. They can also be used to enhance or improve features such as our lips or cheek bones. Furthermore Radiesse can be used to tighten loose skin for example on the upper arms and improve the elasticity of the desired body area.

We recommend to avoid blood thinning medication such as aspirin one week before any injection.

There are different types of wrinkles and volume losses and as a results there are different types of fillers. The filler procedure is usually the same for most sorts of fillers. The treatment area is disinfected and the filler is injected – wrinkles disappear and a youthful volume is brought back. After the injection a cool pack is applied for a few minutes.

Most treatment areas are almost painless. We offer anesthesia in form of a cream or an injection in more delicate areas such as the lips to ensure that our clients are comfortable at all times.

The first results are visible immediately after the injection.

Slight swelling and bruising can appear which resolve within a few days.

Exercise should be avoided for 2 days and sauna visits should be avoided for 7 days.
